A graduate of St Andrews and Heriot-Watt Universities, I started my editorial career in the fiction department of My Weekly magazine at DC Thomson before moving on to information, PR and marketing roles in public, private and third sector organisations.
In addition to seven years’ freelance work, I have worked in-house:
- managing communications for charities Action for M.E. and Children in Scotland
- undertaking PR for local authorities: Lothian Regional Council and Bath & North East Somerset Council
- holding marketing posts at the University of St Andrews, Heriot-Watt University, Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools, Loretto School and Telford College of FE
- supporting marketing activities at Home Energy Scotland, People's Postcode Lottery and in the School of History, Classics and Archaeology, University of Edinburgh.
